2026 Election Guidelines and Timetable
This page sets out the full nomination criteria, eligibility requirements, elective positions and timetable for the 2026 election of Christ's School, Ado-Ekiti Alumni Association.
Nomination Criteria
- 1.A candidate must be a member in good standing with the Association.
- 2.A candidate must have paid their annual dues for three consecutive years, including the 2026 election year.
- 3.Every member nominating or seconding a candidate must also have paid their annual dues for three consecutive years, including the 2026 election year.
- 4.A candidate must submit a duly completed nomination form no later than 21 days before the election date for the nomination to be considered valid.
Eligibility for Elective Office
- 1.A candidate for the position of President must have left Christ's School at least 25 years before the election date.
- 2.A candidate for the position of Vice President must have left Christ's School at least 20 years before the election date.
- 3.A candidate for the position of Secretary General must have left Christ's School at least 20 years before the election date.
- 4.Candidates for all other elective positions must have left Christ's School at least 15 years before the election date.
- 5.A candidate must be gainfully employed or hold a responsible position that will not prevent or hinder them from effectively carrying out their duties to the Association.
- 6.A candidate who has held an elective position for two consecutive terms at the National or Global level shall not be eligible to contest for another elective position at the same level until three years have elapsed.

- 8.Welfare Officer I
- 9.Welfare Officer II

The following positions are not open for election:
- 1.Ex-Officio I
- 2.Ex-Officio II
These positions shall be occupied by the immediate past President and immediate past Secretary of the Association, respectively.
Voting and Election Procedures
- 1.The Electoral Committee shall publish the register of eligible voters at least 30 days before the election date.
- 2.Voting shall be conducted on the principle of one member, one vote.
- 3.The election shall be conducted electronically through an approved e-voting system.
- 4.There shall be no physical gathering of voters for the purpose of voting.
- 5.The candidate who receives the highest number of valid votes cast for a position shall be declared the winner.

Election Complaints
Any complaint concerning the election must be submitted by the affected candidate to the Electoral Committee within 72 hours after the declaration of the election results.

Frequently Asked Questions for Voters
How do I cast my vote?
Voting is conducted electronically through an approved e-voting system. Eligible members will receive instructions and access details ahead of the election date, 19 September 2026.
Who is eligible to vote?
Any member in good standing whose name appears on the register of eligible voters, published at least 30 days before the election date, may vote.
What if I can't access the voting system?
Contact the Electoral Committee immediately using the details on this page. They will assist with access issues or provide an alternative way to record your vote before voting closes.
My name is missing from the voters' register. What should I do?
Reach out to the Electoral Committee as soon as the register is published so the issue can be reviewed and corrected before voting opens.
Is there a physical polling location?
No. There is no physical gathering of voters for the purpose of voting; the entire election is conducted electronically.
How will I know the results?
Election results will be published within 24 hours after the close of voting on 19 September 2026.
